Devra Shards

It has been confirmed that Devra is somehow in the portals; there are 31 shards and two targets.  Here is a recreation made by an agent followed by the formal announcement (transcript below).  What does this mean for Devra?

Lorazon: Give me what we have.
Analyst: at 18:01 UTC 31 XM Shards manifested across the globe. Each Shard seems to contain part of a Pattern that matches our records for Dr. Devra Bogdanovich.
L: She's in the portals...
A: Yes, it seems that way. The Shards are energizing in a manner that suggests they will jump with in the Portal Network every 6 hours. We expect we;ll see the first jump at midnight UTC. Then 6AM UTC and so on.
L: Is that a constant?
A: For now. In the past we've seen movement frequency change as the Shards gain momentum through their lifespans. We might see something similar with these.
L: Do we know their lifespans?
A: Data's still coming in, but so far everything points to the Shonin Anomaly on March 28th.
L: Makes sense. The Shards travel on Portal Links?
A: There's a possibility they will move without one if they stay too lon in one place, but usually they travel along a connected Link as long as the Portals are both L7 or higher. In the past we've also seen Shards and Artifacts within the network self-correct if tampered with. I expect these ones will display a similar  resilience.
L: Targets?
A: So far the Targets seem to be static and we expect they'll stay that way.  It seems likely that the Shards arriving at the Targets will lock into place and become stable there. We see a Target in D.C. at the Washington Monument and one in Rotterdam near the Erasmus Bridge. Resistance and Enlightened respectively.
L: Important moments from her past. With Calvin before Niantic began and with Hank Johnson after Niantic fell apart.
A: Yes, sir. We thought the same thing. Calvin' Resistance and Hank's Enlightened. She must have left a Pattern at the Portals there.
L: Will control of these Shards have an impact on the Shonin Anomalies?
A: A significant one. Exact data is unclear but we strongly suspect that capturing the 31 XM Shards will be critical, possibly equal or even greater value than all the Shonin Anomalies combined.
L: And Devra's on the line?
A: Devra's on the line, sir. And this just might be the beginning of something bigger.
L: I know. Keep me updated.

A Kind of Portal Virus

A portion of the July 10th Ingress Report featured an audio clip of a partial conversation between Dr. Ezekiel Calvin and Dr. Devra Bogdanovich.

Devra: Calvin, I can't wait for the vaccine to be ready. We have to act now. There is something we discovered during research. (some digital beeps are heard) Keep watching the portal. Did you see that? (more digital beeps) It burned out. And soon they all will. It's a kind of portal virus. Deployment starts today. I hope you are ready.

On July 11th, Dr. Martin Schubert released a post regarding an observed increased decay rate in portals.

I began investigating as soon as I heard.  Initial results show increased Portal Decay. At this point I am unable to say exactly how much, but the increase seems greater than 200%.  Fully charged Portals will decay in 72 hours

ON July 12th Stein Lightman posted about a change in the amount of XM constructs put out by Glyph Hacking.

Where is this all leading? Is this a system that is connected and we are seeing how changes in one component ripple through to other parts of the system? Is this manipulation by certain people, corporations, entities?

Dispersal Leads To an XM Race - the big three

There are still so many questions unanswered and so much information to catalog and archive, but it seems the dispersal of Niantic has given way to multiple tentacles, each searching for XM and how to use it.

Will work feverishly to collect as much as possible over the next week (with obvious focus on Visur as it links to Dr. Devra Bogdanovich), but it seems right now there are three developing labs/organizations and then smaller groups/individuals, which I have basic info below, but who else is in this race?

ADA wants in

Well it seems IQ Tech has been busy and recorded a chat between Devra and ADA - said chat raises lots and lots of questions - at least for me. I'll copy a few I have, there are some great discussions going on through g+

It does make me wonder more about ADA, I really would love to know what makes her tick, what she is feeling and thinking and of course, plotting and playing....

as to timing of this convo, well ADA only mentions Christie, and we know Devra had contacted others, so perhaps this communication came between those?  Although, do we know who the dangerous Ilya is (or is this a piece the upcoming novel may fill in)?  And hmmm it seems a certain person is not in good graces...

and lastly... why does ADA want in so "badly"...

As to IQTech +Andrew Bone they are high on my list of want to know more. I am slowly working on that wiki page of organizations as a way to help me review everything on certain topics, IQTech one of them  (with that, was IQTech link to Hank the first time they were mentioned on the Investigation board???)

If they have not already been asked, maybe at the next +Thomas Greanias  Q&A IQTech could be brought up and see if additional info is known....

I am not sure ADA wants to work for or with Devra, she wants "in" this could mean more to be considered a confidant of Devra's, to be trusted, to perhaps have a person to actually talk to...

Timing I am still curious about as well, We know Devra had contacted others - but ADA does not mention them here, could be a timing clue or just how the conversation flowed.

I do not recall an Ilya either... BUT we have had a few last names with no first names (I believe 855 had mentioned a Milan person who he suspected she was going to see, perhaps that is Ilya, which is she is going to visit this person, why would ADA label them as dangerous???  Very very excited about the upcoming novel now....

I know over the last few months, +Hubert Farlowe periodically checks in and sometimes hints that things happened, but he and others (like the nice Doctor Lady ;)  are ok.... which I am holding you to +Hubert Farlowe ;)

and yes +Lukas Lentz I am beginning to think there is something more... and have you noticed we have not heard from him in a bit

(PS - Dr. Wright might be Paul, but she seemed so excited to call Paul and share the dialtone finding, which ADA cut right off, but would she have gone from being to enthusiastic to the obvious distaste, perhaps disgust, possibly indicated in that chat (I wish i could have heard her voice to see if it was dripping with loathing ;)

ADA goes on about how she can monitor everything and so on, well, does ADA know she is being recorded by IQ Tech? And that answer of course begs two very important follow up questions

1. If yes, why does she allow the recording and then chats to leak out (does she consider IQ Tech inconsequential, which can be a person's undoing, or does she want the chats leaked and finds IQ is as convenient way as any)

2. If no, um maybe we should be worried not just about ADA but about IQ Tech.... (or if ADA is going to be an issue, maybe IQ Tech will be a secret weapon, savior)

Why do I get the feeling there are backdoors to people's backdoors to people's backdoors in this digital world.....

Hostile Takeover - other XM study labs beware

So, trying to break down the events of today piece what is going on. This is what I have so far, but it is spotty and I am sure there is much missing, will update as corrections are made, please help out with additions and corrections as needed. This is more just getting the events in order, as to what they mean, there is much discussion to be had and truth to be found. Also, this should serve as a warning... or at least something to watch/consider as if this happened to Niantic, until more is known, it could happen to any lab. 

At the time of this blog entry (about 10:30pm) – there has been no communication about this on Edgar Allen Wright, Hubert Farlowe, Joe Philley (other than resharing Niantic posts), Brandon Badger (other than resharing Niantic posts) or any affiliated Niantic persons….

GENEVA, Switzerland (TPI) – An estimated dozen Niantic Security officials have been ‘taken into custody’ by HAZDATA Operatives. After a brief standoff lasting about 30 minutes Niantic Project Security Officials relinquished their weapons and surrendered to HAZDATA control forces.

There was no apparent involvement of Swiss police or military forces. There are no reports of shots being fired or admissions to local medical facilities. A man wearing a Hazdata uniform claimed that this was a ‘training exercise.’ An observer on the scene said that it was ‘very well acted if it was a training scene.’

As of this reporting, HAZDATA Officials appear to be entering the facility. “It is hard to read what is going on’ the observer said. “There are no weapons drawn, but the atmosphere is ‘intense’, ‘professional’.

Following initial reports, a HAZDATA official has confirmed a corpse discovered at the Niantic Facility may be that of theoretical physicist Dr. Victor Kureze.

Victor Kureze was the scientist most credited with discovering Exotic Matter (XM), and was one of the first scientific researchers to join the Niantic Project, according to leaked intelligence reports.

An undisclosed source told this reporter that Kureze had been murdered. ‘Found in lab, very suspicious circumstances.’

Analysts are currently questioning whether the death of Victor Kureze is tied to an Ingress ‘Player’ event in which data packages were released from the facility and ‘harvested’ by operatives across Europe.

The true relationship between the Niantic Project and the 'Ingress Game' has been the subject of rumors and speculation previously. Thus far, little attention has been paid by the mass media.

A murder in Geneva may change all of that.

IQTech - Company Profile and more about Project Whydah

Not sure if there is any direct connect between a company called IQTech and Dr. Bogdanovich, but it certainly is a good idea to keep tabs on all things that have potential to cross paths (Cogidyne Corp. anyone :)
