Pevtsov makes a move and Devra is Quiet

A few things have been collected.  In this post - https://plus.google.com/u/0/+NianticProject/posts/LkhUHfnwGYq a conversation between Illya and Yuri highlights a few things.  Of concern is a potential confirmation Devra left Visur (to me the wording is vague and could be interpreted in a few ways). It also seems to validate that Devra has been working on some form of inoculation. It also seems to hint at the fountain of youth comments that Dr. Edgar Allan Wright has made.  Is the boundary of death truly being broken.

Pevstov: She'll be back eventually when she finds her plan of innoculation useless. But I am known for my impatience. I want to talk about Singularity with you. Are you aware of this concept?
Nagassa: Of course. Machines that could contain the human intelligence, a sort of eternal existence. Is this what you are interested in, Mr. Pevtsov?
Pevstov: Not exactly. What you describe is alarming. This is not the life I wish for myself, I woudln't want to exist in a world supervised by machines. But I know you are aware of other ways existing. I would like to know more about the phenomenon you've reported to Calvin earlier on in Geneva, related to XM effect on human cells.
Pevstov[Nagassa in fact]: You are aware of this? You are worth of your reputation. At the moment this is only a theory, Mr. Pevtsov, quite a fragile one.
Pevstov: Enlighten me.
Nagassa: XM has many positive effects on human physiology. Repairing the cells, provided the dosage is enough, is one of them. Also, there is a concept of storing XM to create and save the entire record of human body down to subatomic level, which will give a possibility of... re-usage in future.
Pevstov: Yes, I think Jarvis referred to this as "patterning". You would probably not be suprised, that some clients are ready to make substantial payments to save their physiology as a recording and for further ability of keeping it in this configuration.
Nagassa: Source of youth fuelled by XM? Yes, I thought about this usage. You could restore the  organic form from the last "pattern". Or any previous "pattern" if it exists.
Pevstov: Great idea, that the world is ready for. It has lots of riches but nothing to purchase anymore. The new economy will be based on buying impressions [/emotions].
Nagassa: The risks are incredibly high, but if you are ready for them, there is some potential.

Hank Johnson Video Diary and Being Lost

 This is very disturbing. And I have started a plea on G+ and will continue it here, Hank is lost, Devra maybe lost too. But perhaps if Devra can find Hank, they can both help each other.

I've been wandering the streets of Berlin. I've seen many things familiar to me: the embassy, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate. I have clear memories of a surveillance training exercise in 1993; felt like a game for us at the time.  Little did I know that friends would later die because they, they didn’t play it well enough.  What I don’t know is why I’m here. The trip to the cave it, it doesn’t make sense. So I’ve been walking, thinking, step by step trying to clear away the noise. I know there’s a message for me. Maybe it’s in the portals. I just need to see through the wave to the water.

Sometimes messages come to me. Usually as images, just a snapshot, like a, like a frame lifted from a movie. Often they come when I’m near portals. Lately I’ve been seeing glyphs as well. Sometimes I’m in the images, but, but I’m not seeing myself from my own perspective. I’m seeing myself from someplace else; from the portal looking back at me.  It’s me I’m seeing, but it’s not me. It’s a different reality. Sometimes the things I see, well, they happen. I see them before they happen. That’s saved my life more than once.  In Afghanistan I walked into the U.N. office in Kabul. The guard standing outside the Director’s office caught my eye. In that moment I knew he was going to use his AKA to shoot everyone in the room. The day before I’d seen a single image while I was meditating, his face looking over at me as he fired his weapon. When I recognized him in the office, I didn’t say anything, I just left. I was only a little startled when I heard him empty the clip behind me. I should have stopped him, but I didn’t trust the visions so much then. Now I do.

What I don’t understand is why? What do they want me to do?  Why are they talking to me? I know they’ve made civilizations great. I’m certain they were whispering to Alexander even as he marched to his death, but why me?  Jarvis is not them. He’s not what they are. He hears them like I do.  Sees visions, I’m sure of it. I think he really died that night in Zurich. What he is now, I’m starting to think I know that too. And that’s what scares me.  And so I’m here. There’s one man who knows the answer, Azmati. He was there the first time. He saw what happened and he left. Why? Why didn’t he wait for me? What did he see? I think I know. That’s where I’m going now. God and Allah together can’t help me if I’m right.

A new year and new revelations, but where is Devra

Welcome to a New Year and sorry for the silence, that is primarily due to the fact that there has not been much from or related to Devra. This archivist is rather worried and hopes all is well for the good Doctor.

I did want to share two items, one was actually recorded at the beginning of the Niantic Project, so while it is an "older" document, it reveals new things about the initial Niantic team, including Devra.

Here is the little blurb about Devra, although you learn small tidbits about her as you listen to the entire briefing. She has a very light manner, positive and enjoys a little humor and is certain the world will be changed.  Oh how she has changed since the recording of this meeting.

Devra: Let me start by thanking you all for coming. If you had a chance to walk around the facility, you’ve undoubtedly seen CERN is not much to look at from the outside. But hidden within there are amazing wonders. I think that might also describe our eclectic and diverse group. Now there’ll be a full personnel briefing later this afternoon, but I wanted to take a moment to introduce the individuals that comprise the Niantic Project team. They are about to become the most important people in your life.  

For those of you who I haven’t met personally, I’m Dr. Devra Bogdanovich (some clapping) I… (Devra pauses as clapping dies down) I’ve been tasked to lead Niantic. I’m a theoretical quantum researcher from Stanford University. Which is to say that I study discrete individual units of energy called quanta. An interesting fact about quanta it that it is physically impossible to know both the location and the momentum of an individual particle at the same time. So, what might frustrate a less scattered mind is something I am quite comfortable with, which may be the reason I was recruited by Dr. Calvin to head this project in the first place.

The second is a set of year in review special Ingress Reports, which include some of the activities of Devra during the last year.  I created a transcript for part 1 and worked on part 2.

Where is Devra? And hoping all is well

Have not heard from Devra for some time now. With the conclusion of the 13Magnus event, focus has been more on Roland Jarvis, Susanna Moyer, Dr. Lynton-Wolfe, and ADA (Klue).

I am working on updating and gathering all information linked to Dr. Bogdanovich.  I will be updating the information in the Niantic Wiki first - http://niantic.schlarp.com/investigation:characters:devra_bogdanovich and then will tidy up the pages here.

Dr. Bogdanovich has come to a point. A choice. But even now, is it still truly her choice?  And there is more on the projects that may have ties to the world of XM through dark matter.

Devra and Calvin Alliance?

A document leaked records a conversation between Calvin and Devra.

Could they be going into an alliance? To me, it seems lately there is no alliances, simply people work together on different pieces when it is needed.

I wonder what research methods Devra will use and if she happens to know Serina (a person known to Hank and Thomas Greanias).

I do wish we could find more of Devra's work, or be able to speak to her more, or just to try and understand why her stance changed so much from her earlier views.

And last, but not least, the Bowie Papers once again are a topic of interest. Just how did that piece of history and those portal/glyphs/ancient XM tie into the larger line.... are they a piece of 13Magnus, something larger, something smaller????

CALVIN: Unfortunately, he has a funny habit of being right about that stuff. The Peshawar Anomaly started all of this.
DEVRA:  What's he going to start this time?
CALVIN: Don't know. I think I've got a pretty good track on him. One thing doesn't make sense though. He seems obsessed with something he's calling the Bowie papers.
DEVRA: They were lost at the Alamo. Supposedly penned by Jim Bowle. Hank thinks he stumbled onto some XM sites in Texas.
CALVIN: Is there a tie to Rome? Something's connected. The Anomaly there is going to be massive. DEVRA: The Church. There were missionaries at the Alamo. I'll do some checking. The papers could have ended up in the Vatican library.

Ingress: Level 8 by Felicia Hajra-Lee

Another book from author Felicia Hajra-Lee is available in Google Play. This is the same set of papers that were released during the October 26 #13Magnus event.

Devra is mentioned in terms of Visur's part in the mission to CERN to retrieve the last scientists associated with the Niantic Project. We find Illya hired a personal bodyguard for Devra, Claudia.  We also have a few insights via's Hurbert's perspective of how Devra has changed:

In his long talks with Devra after becoming part of her research at Visur, they had opened up to each other about how their encounters with XM had changed their reality.

Devra told Farlowe how she would, on occasion, have a sense of impending harm, which would then inevitably turn out to be true.  This manifested itself in the way time would bend for her.  That is, her perception of time included the details she needed to put together a threat assessment, and then act on it.  A blink of an eye might be hours of imagery to process and consider, yet it would happen.      

What bothered Devra about this was she couldn’t control it.  Which was also what irritated Farlowe about his XM infusion.  That time had become unpredictable.  That the metronome of life could be slowed down, or sped up, or stopped altogether.  And that Farlowe couldn’t remember it happening.  Or the pace of the rhythm it had been beating to before what Devra termed “an episode”.  

We also find ADA, at this point, is still able to contact Devra, but has had gaps in speaking to Devra.

Hopefully more of Devra's journey will be seen, either through pages from Ms. Hajra-Lee or other sources. Perhaps even from the Doctor herself.

 

A declaration against the Jarvis Shards

Devra released a letter yesterday with her thoughts of the last year and a current declaration of her stance in the Jarvis Shard Event.

I was Research Lead on the Niantic Project. We were chartered by the NIA to study the threats and opportunities coming from Exotic Matter (XM).  XM is a new form of matter that clusters near what we refer to as ‘Portals.’

We discovered that Portals occur in places of artistic, cultural, or historic significance.  We believe this has been the case for humans of all nationalities and cultures, throughout recorded history.

It also became clear that certain people are deeply affected by XM. We classify these individuals as ‘sensitives.’  The effects of XM are considered positive by many and may include heightened creativity and cognitive capacity.

During our analysis of XM, we also discovered that XM seemed to be carrying encoded information within it.  Someone, or something, seemed to be trying to communicate with us.  Because of this, and the perceived effects of XM, that unknown entity became known as ‘the Shapers.’

The ‘Scanner’ was created as by Dr. Lynton-Wolfe as a means to harvest XM and to test various XM constructs designed to control XM and to increase the output of XM from Portals.

In an unanticipated event, the XM Scanner slipped into private hands and was released to the public as a ‘game’ called Ingress. As a result, the XM scanner was widely disbursed and we are left to deal with the effects of XM exposure on hundreds of millions of people.

Within the lab, our opinions about XM, and the force that might be using it to try to communicate with us, were split.  Some believed that XM held great promise for the progress of humanity and that the Shapers, whatever they are, might be our allies in continued evolution.  Others saw XM and the Shapers as an existential threat to human existence.  Those supporting the study and use of XM became known as ‘the Enlightened.’  Those committed to fighting it became known as ‘the Resistance.’

One of my fellow team Niantic members, an artist and suspected Sensitive named Roland Jarvis, was killed shortly after being exposed to a massive dose of Exotic Matter.  When an autopsy was carried out on his body, it was found to be obdurate to the autopsy process.

A month after his death, Roland Jarvis ‘manifested’ as some kind of XM being at the Cupid’s Span portal in San Francisco.  Jarvis, in this new form, came to be seen as a kind of leader for the The Enlightened.  He has since issues a number of communications about the meaning of XM and those behind it.

In August 2013, the struggle over XM reached a new level of urgency when Jarvis instigated an effort to gain control of power centers around the world in a series of events that came to be known as ‘Operation Cassandra.’  In the process, information was uncovered about an ancient language of shapes or ‘glyphs’ which have the ability to influence, and perhaps even ‘program’ human minds.  A series of potentially dangerous glyphs were unleashed on the world. These were ultimately diffused but not until former Niantic lab member +Carrie Campbell sacrificed herself in an effort to block them.

There’s more.  And it only gets worse.

Former Niantic Lab member Dr. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe first tried to help Jarvis, but after being attacked by him during Operation Cassandra, retreated to Bangkok where he developed a new type of XM weapon, this time using ‘Dark XM’ or ‘Chaotic Matter.’  When he used this weapon against Jarvis he not only failed to defeat him, the Jarvis ‘entity’ shattered into 13 pieces or ‘Shards’ that dispersed to Portals around the world.

It is significant to note that in Bangkok Jarvis referred to himself as ‘Osiris.’ As you know, the Osiris myth relates to resurrection after a body is divided into 13 parts.

We now believe that Jarvis is plotting a resurrection of his own.  This will be achieved if a viable number of Shards are gathered at the Cupid’s Span mega-Portal in San Francisco.  Enlightened agents are working at this very moment to make that happen.  A parallel effort by Resistance agents is underway to gather the Shards into another mega-Portal in Buenos Aires, Argentina in order to destroy the Jarvis entity forever.

It is my firm belief that we should prevent a unification of the Shards at all costs.
